The Design Museum’’s new permanent display explores design experience through the eyes of the designer, the maker, and the user –– the three distinct yet overlapping roles which create every product in the world.
Designer Maker User, the museum’s first permanent display using the collection to look at the development of modern design though these three interconnected roles. We made 3 films to discuss the themes of designer maker user with 3 designer studios including Morag Myerscough, Chris Allen of the light surgeons and Studio Kin.
Designer Maker User features almost 1000 items of twentieth and twenty-first century design viewed through the angles of the designer, manufacturer and user, including a crowdsourced wall. The exhibition covers a broad range of design disciplines, from architecture and engineering, to the digital world, fashion and graphics. Designer Maker User features a bold, colourful and engaging display designed by Studio Myerscough, with digital interactives by Studio Kin. – See more at: http://designmuseum.org/exhibitions/designer-maker-user#sthash.Ar1eggHi.dpuf
