Mail Rail

London Live

Mail Rail was commissioned by London Live in conjunction with the British Postal Museum. The brief was to show a secret side of London.

Mail Rail open in 1927, acted as the Kings private postal services, before serving all of London and Londoners. Mail Rail helped deliver letters during the war, hide art, it was even used as a Hollywood movie set.

The tracks run 6.5 miles from Paddington to Whitechapel connecting West and East London. The Post Office Railway closed in 200, now a disused and abandoned environment waiting a rebirth. My film is a poetic documentary acting as a guide through the empty and atmospheric landscape, supported by several narrations which offer a cohesive understanding of the importance of Mail Rail and its function.
